On Halloween The Whole Town Is Outside. Be Everywhere They Look. - Dojo Muscle

Halloween is the one night of the year your entire town is outside, on foot, walking past your building and up to every door in the neighborhood.

Kids in costumes. Parents trailing behind them. Whole families, block by block, for three hours straight.

Most schools do nothing with it. The ones that do usually send a single card that dies at the bottom of a candy bucket by 8pm.

That is a wasted night. Here is how to actually own it.

A card that just says "come try us" gets tossed with the wrappers

Put yourself on the parent's kitchen counter on November 1st. A pile of candy, a couple of flyers, and one card from your school.

If your card only says "sign up for classes," it is in the trash with the Snickers wrappers.

The card that survives gives the parent something they actually want to keep. That is the whole trick.

    • Halloween safety tips a parent pins to the fridge
    • A trick-or-treat trivia or game card the kid plays with
    • A real trial offer with a start date, not a vague "call us"

Give value and your card sits on the counter for a week. That week is when the call comes.

Safety is your angle, and only yours

Every candy brand owns the sugar. You own the one thing parents are actually nervous about on Halloween night, their kid out in the dark, crossing streets, knocking on stranger doors.

A martial arts school talking about staying aware, staying calm, and standing tall is not a stretch. It is exactly who you are.

So lead the card with real safety tips and let the offer sit underneath. You help first, you sell second. Parents feel the difference.

Be in three places on the same family, the same week

One card anywhere is easy to miss. The families who call are the ones who saw you everywhere they turned that week.

Halloween lets you surround them without being annoying, because you are part of the fun, not an interruption.

    Hit three surfaces at once:

    • The mailbox - a Halloween EDDM card lands the week before the 31st
    • The doorstep - hand cards out at your door and at trunk-or-treats, and send students home with a stack for friends
    • The street - a banner and window decals so every trick-or-treater walking past sees your name

Same family. Mailbox, front step, and your storefront. Three impressions in one week, and every one of them felt like Halloween, not a sales pitch.

The piece that turns a card into a phone call

A fun card gets remembered. An offer gets acted on. You need both on the same night.

Hand the parent a card that pairs the Halloween hook with a real trial, a free week with a date they can start. The kid had a blast at your door. Now the parent is holding the exact next step.

Real Talk. A memory does not enroll anyone. A booked start date does.

    What to send, and when

The 31st does not move, and print and mail run on a real clock. Work backward from it.

Rough timeline if you start this week:

    • Now - lock your EDDM card and drop it so it lands early-to-mid October
    • Two to three weeks out - order your handout cards, banner, and window decals
    • Halloween week - cards in hand, banner up, students armed for school

The mailed piece has the longest lead time, so that is the one you cannot sit on. The handouts and the banner can come together faster.

    Grab the pieces

Everything for this lives in one place, our Halloween cards collection, built for martial arts schools and made to get a parent to call.

    Mix and match by surface:

    • Mailbox - Halloween EDDM cards start at $537 for 1,000 homes
    • Doorstep - Kick or Treat handout cards start at $157 for 1,000, and the trial-and-safety bundle runs $197
    • Storefront - window decals from $117 and banners from $127

Want the mail side handled for you, routes and printing and drops? EDDM 360 runs the neighborhood campaign so you can focus on the party.

Halloween night, your whole town is walking your streets in costumes.

Be in their mailbox. Be at their door. Be on the wall they walk past.

Then turn the lights on and let them in.
